Delphi Lives! Impressions and Perspectives from the Embarcadero Conference 2026 in Brazil

The Embarcadero Conference 2026 in Brazil was, to put it mildly, a spectacle. Even the rain couldn't dampen the enthusiasm of the world's largest Delphi community, gathered in São Paulo. An event that not only underscores the enduring vitality of Delphi but also shows how a passionate community keeps the flame of innovation burning even after more than three decades. As a long-time Delphi developer and blogger, I want to share my personal impressions and the resulting insights with the German community.

Delphi: More than just a programming language

Delphi has been with us for 31 years, and at least 22 of those were marked by rumors of its imminent demise. But like a phoenix from the ashes, Delphi has always reinvented itself. It has survived changes in ownership and has always strived to stay current. The conference in Brazil was an impressive testament to the fact that Delphi has not only survived but continues to play a central role in large, modern projects. The speed and performance that Delphi delivers are undeniable advantages that help companies remain competitive and innovative.

The Power of Community

Over 600 participants, who made their way to Amcham-Brazil despite adverse weather conditions and challenges in public transport, speak volumes. This is not only the largest Delphi developer event in the world but also a place of intensive exchange and knowledge transfer. It shows that the Delphi community forms a strong foundation that supports and motivates each other to maintain technological leadership. For us in Germany, this is an important signal: the strength of a technology lies not only in its code but also in the people who use and develop it.

Diversity of Topics and Practical Insights

With five simultaneous stages covering topics such as Best Practices, Backend, APIs, Cloud, Modernization, Databases, Artificial Intelligence, and Innovation, the conference offered an enormous range. Particularly noteworthy was the special track on DevOps culture, which took place in a more intimate setting. Such formats are invaluable as they enable direct dialogue with experts and help clarify practical questions about implementation in everyday work. For German developers, who often face similar challenges, this is an example of how knowledge can be effectively conveyed and applied.

KAI and AI: A Look into the Future

A personal highlight was the presentation of KAI and Agency AI. I had the opportunity to get early access to KAI Version 1.1 and share my experiences – including installation hurdles – with the audience. It was an exciting experience to discover KAI's new features and improvements. This underscores how important it is for developers to continuously educate themselves and be open to new tools and technologies, especially in the field of Artificial Intelligence, which is revolutionizing our industry. The integration of AI capabilities into Delphi applications will certainly be a decisive factor in the coming years.

Conclusion and Outlook

The Embarcadero Conference 2026 was more than just an event; it was a celebration of innovation, community, and confirmation that Delphi is a vibrant and future-proof technology. For us in the German Delphi community, this is an inspiration to remain active, share knowledge, and explore the possibilities that Delphi offers us. The enthusiasm from Brazil should motivate us to invigorate our own meetups, conferences, and online forums and to keep the Delphi flag flying high. Delphi lives, and its future looks promising!
